People taking HAEGARDA in clinical trials nearly eliminated their use of on-demand rescue medication.

You should always have HAE rescue medication available at all times in case of a breakthrough attack.

HAEGARDA
works by treating the root cause of HAE

C1-INH is a key protein in your body that controls swelling. If you’re missing C1-INH, or if the C1-INH you have is not working properly, an HAE attack can occur.

HAEGARDA adds functioning C1-INH to your body

Since HAEGARDA is injected subcutaneously, it is absorbed and processed slowly, and it helps your working C1-INH levels stay high.

This keeps swelling from getting out of control and prevents most HAE attacks from happening in the first place.

HAE attacks can occur when your levels of working C1-INH are too low.

HAEGARDA adds working C1-INH to your body.

HAEGARDA brings your working C1-INH levels back up and closer to normal, reducing your risk of an HAE attack.

HAEGARDA Offers the Freedom of Subcutaneous self-Administration

HAEGARDA is a treatment you can administer yourself

  • Fits into your schedule: you inject it just under the skin twice a week (every 3 to 4 days) as prescribed by your doctor, at the time and place that works best for you

Treatment individualized for you

Your dose of HAEGARDA is based on your body weight, so you get the dose you need to prevent attacks.

Starting and staying with HAEGARDA

  • Follow up with injection training
  • Refer to the injection prep and self-administration instructions for HAEGARDA as often as you need to
  • Make taking HAEGARDA part of a routine
  • Rotate injection sites to minimize discomfort
  • Continue to take HAEGARDA as prescribed, even if you haven't had an attack in a while
  • Try to stay calm and relaxed while giving yourself the injection

In a 32-week clinical trial, the side effects for people taking HAEGARDA were usually mild and lasted a day or less.

The most common side effects with HAEGARDA were redness, swelling at the injection site, itching and rash, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, and dizziness
